Type TW, TWU, THW UL listed Submersible Pump Cable for borehole pumps with 3 and 4 conductors with or without Ground. Sizes range from 14 AWG to 350 MCM with PVC or TPE jacket.
These cables are manufactured from pure virgin copper wires and a specially formulated PVC & TPE compound to meet most stringent requirements of UL 83.
The cables are listed as UL and ULc and are suitable for operation upto -400 C temperature
Construction :
- Conductor:High purity electrolytic grade bright annealed flexible bunched bare, copper conductor according to ASTM B172
- Insulation:Specially developed dielectric grade moisture resistant PVC
- Sheath:High abrasion resistant tough & flexible PVC
Engineered for Performance UnderwaterDesigned for use with submersible pumps and borewell motors, this flat cable is ideal for continuous immersion. The specialized PVC sheath prevents water ingress, while the multi-stranded copper conductors ensure minimal power loss. Its robust construction allows direct burial, conduit, or duct installation in wet conditions, providing reliable operation for both domestic and industrial applications.
Exceptional Durability and SafetyBuilt to meet IS:694/IEC 60227 standards, the cable withstands temperatures from -15C to +70C in operation. Flame retardant PVC insulation provides added protection against fire hazards, and its resistance to oils, acids, and alkalis ensures performance even in harsh chemical environments. The low water absorption and UV-resistant sheath further fortify the cable's durability outdoors.
Flexible Installation and Customizable OptionsAvailable in standard 100-meter lengths or customizable to project requirements, the cable accommodates various installation setups. Its flexible, flat profile simplifies pulling and laying, even in tight spaces. The cable is packed coiled, shrink-wrapped, or supplied on drums for convenient transport and storage. Multiple sizes (1.5 sqmm to 16 sqmm) ensure compatibility with diverse electrical loads.
FAQ's of PVC Flat Submersible Drop Cable with Ground:
Q: How should the PVC Flat Submersible Drop Cable with Ground be installed for submersible pump applications?
A: The cable is designed for direct burial, duct, or conduit installation, making it ideal for use with submersible motors in borewells, pumps, and water supply systems. Ensure the minimum bending radius is six times the overall thickness, and always avoid sharp bends to maintain insulation integrity during installation.
Q: What are the primary benefits of choosing this cable for underwater or wet environments?
A: This cable offers outstanding water and chemical resistance due to its specially formulated PVC sheath, ensuring low water absorption and long-term durability. Additionally, it is flame retardant, UV resistant, and provides high insulation resistance, making it exceptionally reliable for continuous underwater operation.
Q: When should I consider using a flat submersible cable instead of a round cable?
A: A flat cable is preferable when space is limited or specific installations, such as narrow conduits or borewell pipes, require a compact profile. Its flexibility and ease of handling also reduce the effort needed during large-scale or residential projects.
Q: Where can this cable be used apart from submersible pumps?
A: In addition to submersible pump and borewell applications, the cable can be used in irrigation systems, industrial water supply lines, and any installation requiring reliable performance under wet or harsh chemical conditions. Its suitability for direct burial also supports outdoor and underground setups.
Q: What process ensures the cable's flame retardant and chemical-resistant properties?
A: The cable undergoes extrusion with a specially formulated PVC compound that conforms to IS:694/IEC 60227 standards. This process imparts inherent resistance to flames, oils, acids, and alkalis while ensuring the sheath remains flexible and waterproof for demanding submersion operations.
Q: How does the design protect against electrical and environmental hazards?
A: The cable features high insulation resistance (>20 M/km at 27C) and a dielectric strength of 2.5 kV for 1 minute, safeguarding against electrical leakage. The tough outer sheath shields the cable from UV radiation, mechanical stress, and aggressive chemicals, ensuring operational safety and resilience.
